Job summary

Intellias in Raymond, Ohio is seeking an Applied AI Software Engineer to design, build, and deliver internal AI‑enabled tools that boost engineering productivity. You will work with Python, JavaScript/React, and AWS to create end‑to‑end pipelines, integrate LLM APIs, and produce outputs such as reports and summaries for enterprise use.

This full‑time onsite role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, writing maintainable code, and adhering to security and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Two or more years of professional software engineering experience delivering production‑quality applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python, including clean, maintainable code and debugging.
• Hands‑on experience integrating existing AI capabilities (LLM APIs, managed AI platforms, CV services).
• Experience building backend services, APIs, data‑processing workflows, automation, or system integrations.
• Experience deploying cloud-based applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Ability to evaluate options and propose practical tools, frameworks, and architecture approaches.
• Ability to work within established architecture, coding standards, and software development processes.
• Experience collaborating with engineering and non‑engineering stakeholders to translate needs into solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work full‑time onsite in Raymond, Ohio.

Responsibilities

• Engage with requirements, validation, UX/UI, and other stakeholders to understand current workflows and opportunities for automation or AI‑enabled improvement.
• Translate ambiguities into practical problem statements, user journeys, functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical designs.
• Recommend architecture, AI services, cloud platforms, and implementation approaches based on value, feasibility, security, and cost.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain internal AI‑enabled tools that improve productivity and workflows.
• Build end‑to‑end applications and pipelines processing documents, data, and media to outputs like reports and summaries.
• Integrate existing AI capabilities including LLM APIs, AI services, and CV tools.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python; contribute to React‑based UI when needed.
• Create prototypes to validate feasibility and evolve them into production solutions.
• Establish AI‑output evaluation, testing, logging, and human review where required.
• Collaborate across teams; document decisions, scope, risks, and dependencies.
• Maintain technical documentation and guidance; perform duties independently and in line with policies.
