Employment Solutions is hiring an AI Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of the company’s AI development. The role focuses on designing and building an AI operating system that uses agents, orchestration, data, and infrastructure to ship production AI and automate workflows across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the company’s AI roadmap and architecture end to end as a full ownership role
- Identify and prioritize high-leverage AI use cases across sales, operations, procurement, finance, and the warehouse
- Act as the primary expert on what current AI tools can enable, translating that into concrete, shippable projects
- Design and maintain the core AI architecture (the company’s AI operating system), including how models, orchestration tools, and data stores connect
- Determine where data should live and how it should flow between core business systems (ERP, CRM, WMS, and customer support platforms) and AI tools
- Evaluate and evolve the orchestration layer as needs grow, with current use of Make.com and comparison to alternatives such as n8n, Boomi, or MuleSoft
- Build, deploy, and maintain AI agents that automate real workflows including quoting, customer service, procurement, routing, reporting, and more
- Pair large language models (Claude, ChatGPT) as reasoning engines with orchestration tools and custom code to deliver reliable, production-grade agents
- Write and ship production code using Python, APIs, FastAPI, and similar technologies, leveraging AI coding tools to increase speed and output
- Build real applications and integrations where no-code tools are insufficient
- Collaborate with department leaders to surface automation opportunities and convert them into technical builds
- Train and support staff adoption of AI tools and agents across the organization
- Document architecture and builds so others can maintain or extend them
- Maintain data integrity, security, and access control across AI systems and integrations
- Monitor, test, and maintain production agents to keep them reliable as the business scales
Required Qualifications
- Strong, demonstrated understanding of how AI systems fit together, including models, orchestration, data storage, and agent design beyond prompting
- Hands-on experience building AI agents and automations in production, not limited to prototypes
- Solid coding ability, with Python and APIs as a minimum, plus comfort using AI tools to write and ship code quickly
- Experience with automation and orchestration platforms such as Make.com, n8n, Zapier, or similar tools
- Self-directed approach with the ability to own a project end to end with minimal oversight in a get-it-done environment
- Strong communication skills, including translating technical work for non-technical department leaders
Technology Stack
- Python, APIs, FastAPI
- Make.com, n8n, Zapier, Boomi, MuleSoft
