Job summary

Mercor is hiring Engineering Managers to lead teams in the Applied AI organization. You will guide engineers, partner with product and research, and shape how Mercor’s frontier AI capabilities are developed and scaled.

You’ll own technical direction, drive system design for complex AI platforms, and build partnerships with top AI labs while managing a 6–10 engineer team. This role emphasizes ownership and hands-on leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related technical field required.
• 6–10 years in engineering; 2–3+ years managing teams.
• Strong background in building scalable systems.
• Ability to lead in ambiguous environments with sound technical judgment.
• Proven ability to coach engineers and drive execution.
• Strong ownership mindset with pragmatic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams within Applied AI to improve model quality and evaluation infrastructure.
• Define engineering roadmaps and drive cross‑functional collaboration with product and research.
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers to scale the organization.
• Partner with AI labs and external partners to advance frontier models.
