Job summary

Ranger AI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to work in a remote/hybrid setting with enterprise customers. You will translate business needs into AI-enabled solutions and deploy production-ready workflows across discovery, design, and deployment phases.

You will collaborate with Product, Forward Deployed Engineering, GTM, and customers to build AI systems using LLMs, RAG, and API integrations, while evaluating reliability and improving outputs in real production environments.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming graduate in CS/Engineering/AI/DS.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, agents, embeddings.
• Experience with APIs, databases, or backend systems.
• Comfortable speaking with customers and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve LLM-powered workflows, agents, retrieval systems, and automation.
• Work with structured and unstructured enterprise data.
• Help develop RAG pipelines, prompting strategies, tool use, and structured outputs.
• Build integrations with APIs, databases, document pipelines, and enterprise systems.
• Work alongside senior engineers and Forward Deployed Engineers on customer deployments.
• Participate in customer discovery, testing, and implementation.
• Prototype new AI capabilities and help bring successful ideas into production.
• Evaluate model outputs, reliability, and failure cases.
• Debug and improve AI workflows based on customer feedback.
• Learn how to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
