Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an Applied AI researcher to own the direction of AI research, collaborating directly with the cofounder. You will architect end-to-end AI agents, design evaluation methods, and curate data to optimize agent behavior at scale.

This hands-on role offers immediate product impact, working in a small, highly motivated lab focused on engineering excellence and global logistics optimization for millions of consumers, merchants, and dashers.

Qualifications

• Experience building AI products using the latest tools.
• Experience with agent solutions, context management, evals, and performance metrics.
• Shipped a production AI agent or similar work.
• Experience at frontier labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepMind) or top AI startups.
• Builder mindset; you're energized by experimentation, move quickly, and stay close to the work.
• Strong cross-functional instincts and ability to bridge research and product teams.

Responsibilities
