Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals seeks a Scientist II, Applications R&D to support formulation design, process development, and testing within the Personal Care R&D team at the Warren, NJ laboratory. The role emphasizes skin and hair care applications, cross-functional collaboration, and rigorous documentation to drive project execution.

Candidate should have a strong background in cosmetic formulations and experience operating lab equipment, with a focus on delivering scientifically sound solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field.
• Four years of hands-on cosmetic or personal care formulation experience (or two years with a Master’s).
• Experience with design of experiments or Bayesian optimization is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop personal care formulations for skin and hair care to showcase ingredient benefits.
• Conduct stability studies and evaluate prototype performance.
• Plan and conduct in-house application testing and coordinate third-party testing as needed.
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate results to stakeholders.
