Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals is seeking a Scientist II, Applications R&D to support formulation design, process development, and application testing within the Vantage Personal Care R&D team.

This role requires a strong foundation in personal care ingredients and formulations, proficiency with established laboratory methods, and the ability to translate technical needs into practical solutions through well-designed experiments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• At least four years of hands-on experience in cosmetic or personal care formulation or manufacturing with a bachelor’s degree, or at least two years with a master’s degree.
• Experience with design of experiments or Bayesian optimization is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate laboratory equipment and instrumentation for formulation work.

Responsibilities

• Develop personal care formulations for skin and hair applications.
• Conduct stability studies and evaluate prototype performance.
• Design, plan, and conduct in-house application testing; coordinate testing with third-party providers.
• Investigate formulation challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product design and process studies.
• Prepare and review project plans and deliverables with minimal supervision.
