Job summary

Vantage Specialty Chemicals is seeking a Scientist II, Applications R&D to advance formulation design and process development for personal care products. The role emphasizes skin and hair care applications, collaboration with internal teams, and external partners to translate needs into tested solutions.

The position requires a strong lab background, documentation discipline, and the ability to conduct and report well-designed experiments in an on-site Warren, NJ setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred; Ph.D. a plus.
• Hands-on experience in cosmetic or personal care formulation/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop personal care formulations for skin and hair care.
• Conduct stability studies and evaluate prototype performance.
• Plan and conduct in-house application testing; coordinate third-party testing.
• Investigate challenges and develop scientifically sound solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on product design and studies.
• Prepare project plans, timelines, and deliverables with minimal supervision.
