Job summary

JR Automation, a Hitachi Group Company, is offering an Applications Engineering Intern/Co-Op position based in Ogden/Salt Lake City area. The internship runs May 2027 through August 2027 and is paid part-time, collaborating across Applications, Mechanical, and Controls teams to design automation lines for customers nationwide.

You will develop CAD models, perform timing studies, gather requirements from clients, and assist in vendor quotes while preparing materials for proposals and project

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited college pursuing an engineering degree.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of applications engineers to design custom automation lines for customers nationwide.
• Collaborate with applications, mechanical, and controls engineers to brainstorm and vet automation solutions.
• Create CAD models, conduct automation timing studies, and prepare quote materials for customers.
• Communicate directly with customers to gather requirements, show concept designs, and guide them through the automation process.
• Reach out to vendors for product quotes and subject matter expertise.
• Develop, build, and present an intern project to general management and applications team.
