Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence in Dallas, TX is offering a Summer 2027 Application Engineer Intern program for students graduating December 2027 or May/June 2028. The internship provides hands-on experience in customer support, software applications, and product demonstrations with potential to transition to a full-time role after graduation.

Interns will work on demonstrations, evaluations, testing, and documentation while shadowing senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
• Expected graduation date in Dec 2027 or May/June 2028.
• Interest in engineering metrology and manufacturing technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of CAD/CAM tools, programming, or data analysis.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support demonstrations of Hexagon’s software to prospective customers.
• Assist with technical evaluations, product testing, and configuration of applications.
• Troubleshoot customer issues under guidance of senior engineers.
• Contribute to training materials, documentation, and technical presentations.
• Shadow engineers in customer engagements to learn solution tailoring.
• Participate in cross-functional projects with R&D, product management, and support.
• Learn best practices in CAD/CAM, simulation, and data analysis.

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking Application Engineer Interns for Summer 2027. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in engineering who expect to graduate in December 2027 or May/June 2028. Successful interns will gain hands-on experience in technical customer support, software applications, and product demonstrations, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time Application Engineer role after graduation.

What You’ll Do

Work Environment

• On-site role with primary work at the Irving, TX office.
• Primarily office-based with opportunities to visit customers or demo sites.
• Regular use of computer equipment; occasional movement around labs or factory floor.
• May involve light lifting (up to 15 lbs) of equipment or demonstration tools.
• Team-oriented environment with collaborative problem-solving and technical engagement.
