Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking an Application Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in North Kingstown, RI. Interns will shadow senior engineers, contribute to training materials, and explore CAD/CAM, simulation, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Expected graduation date: December 2027 or May/June 2028.
• Demonstrated interest in engineering metrology and manufacturing technologies.
• Foundational knowledge of CAD/CAM tools, programming, or data analysis.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Support demonstrations of Hexagon’s measurement and manufacturing software to prospective customers.
• Assist with technical evaluations, product testing, and configuration of applications.
• Troubleshoot customer issues under guidance of senior engineers.
• Contribute to training materials, documentation, and technical presentations.
• Shadow engineers in customer engagements to learn solution customization by industry needs.
• Participate in cross-functional projects bridging R&D, product management, and customer support.
• Learn best practices in CAD/CAM, simulation, and data analysis.

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking Application Engineer Interns for Summer 2027. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in engineering who expect to graduate in December 2027 or May/June 2028. Successful interns will gain hands‑on experience in technical customer support, software applications, and product demonstrations, with the opportunity to transition into a full‑time Application Engineer role after graduation.

Work Environment

• Hybrid/On‑site role with primary work at one of the following offices: North Kingstown, RI | Charlotte, NC | Detroit, MI | Dallas, TX | Irvine, CA | Miamisburg, OH | Wilmington, DE | Milwaukee, WI.
• Primarily office‑based with opportunities to visit customers or demo sites.
• Regular use of computer equipment; occasional movement around labs or factory floor.
• May involve light lifting (up to 15 lbs) of equipment or demonstration tools.
• Team‑oriented environment with collaborative problem‑solving and technical engagement.
