Job Summary

We are recruiting a Senior Application Engineer for the Distech Controls Enterprise Solutions team (DCES). You will develop and deliver control system solutions for strategic customers, leading design and software engineering activities for large/multisite building automation projects. Reporting to the Project Team Manager, you will collaborate with Project Managers and Application Engineers to ensure consistent engineering and project delivery for our Strategic Account Customers.

What will you do?
  • Translate Building Automation and Control System requirements into innovative solutions that meet customer needs and create competitive advantages.
  • Work closely with project managers and other application engineers to align activities with schedules, budgets, and interfacing requirements.
  • Produce engineering deliverables such as submittal packages, drawings, system architecture, interfacing points, database generation, graphics, system software configuration, and programming.
  • Support troubleshooting during installation, startup, and commissioning of building controls and systems.
  • Develop and improve engineering processes, standards, and documentation to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Provide support to Sales, Service, and Project Teams across the business.
  • Engage with customers to improve their experience with Distech Controls solutions.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or over 8 years of related experience as an Applications Engineer or Senior Automation Technician.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the Building Automation System industry.
  • Expertise with Building Automation System tools, particularly Niagara Framework, Lonworks, and BACnet.
  • Ability to work remotely effectively.
  • Self-motivated, innovative, able to prioritize, and work independently.
  • Knowledge of building, electrical, and mechanical codes and standards.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Projects, Smartsheet, and scheduling tools.
  • Current passport with ability to travel up to 45%.
Additional Requirements
  • Experience integrating multiple software packages (Excel, AutoCAD, Visio).
  • Ability to design BMS drawing packages.
  • Knowledge of networking, system configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Niagara AX and N4 Tridium Certification.
  • Experience with Niagara 4 and interfacing servers with JACE topologies.
  • Understanding of HVAC, building services, and controls theory.
  • Proficient with electronic testing tools and troubleshooting electrical/electronic circuitry.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build customer relationships.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Distech GFX application programming, controllers, and Eclypse Designer.
  • IT infrastructure knowledge and experience with lighting controls platforms.
