Job summary

ESS Metron, a leader in low and medium voltage power distribution solutions, seeks a qualified professional to improve quoting processes, drive efficiency, and ensure data quality that boosts gross profit and throughput.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree or equivalent experience, knowledge of NEC/ANSI/NEMA/UL/IEEE, and proficiency in preparing technical proposals and cost estimates. Strong collaboration across sales, engineering, and manufacturing is essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in project management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing related environment.
• Strong understanding of low- and medium-voltage switchgear, power distribution centers, and related electrical power systems.
• Familiarity with NEC, ANSI, NEMA, UL, IEEE standards and ability to interpret electrical/mechanical design specifications.
• Skilled in analyzing customer requirements and translating them into cost-effective, manufacturable solutions.
• Experience preparing technical proposals, cost estimates, and submittal packages for custom-engineered products.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; capable of coordinating across engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams.
• Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, and product specifications for system integration.
• Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-mix production environment with shifting priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties in a safe manner and promote a Safety First mentality across team.
• Interpret technical information provided by the customer and produce material costs and technical proposals.
• Support sales, engineering, operations and the project management team.
• Interface directly with customers and vendors to obtain quotations for electrical components.
• Learn and understand low and medium voltage switchgear and related power systems as needed.
• Coordinate information flow across departments to ensure a smooth transition from quote to job.
