Job summary

MPI is seeking an Applications Engineer for its packaging solutions practice across the United States. You will be the primary technical resource for customers, distributors, and commercial teams, conducting site visits, audits, and proposing optimized packaging solutions to improve efficiency and product performance.

The role requires 3+ years in application engineering or related technical fields, experience with industrial customers, and willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in application engineering or related technical role.
• Experience supporting industrial customers in a technical, customer-facing capacity.
• Knowledge of packaging materials, stretch-film applications, pallet wrapping equipment.
• Engineering degree or technical background advantageous.
• Ability to diagnose problems, troubleshoot applications, and provide practical solutions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Willingness to travel across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, distributors, and commercial teams nationwide.
• Conduct customer site visits and packaging audits to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend and implement optimized packaging solutions to improve efficiency and performance.
• Provide technical guidance on pallet wrapping systems, packaging equipment, and load containment.
• Deliver product training sessions for distributors, operators, and end users.
• Troubleshoot customer challenges and resolve complex application issues.
• Act as liaison between customers and internal technical teams.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, quality, supply chain, and R&D to support projects.
• Partner with equipment manufacturers and third-party stakeholders to develop solutions.
• Support trials, demonstrations, and onboarding activities.
• Build strong relationships across the distribution network to boost product adoption.
