Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an Application Engineer to support packaging innovation nationwide in the United States. You will act as the primary technical resource for customers, conduct site visits, audits, and provide optimized packaging solutions.

The role combines engineering, consulting, and hands-on training across multiple industries, with extensive travel and a base salary in the $85k–$110k range plus a car allowance and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience within application engineering, packaging, plastics, converting, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
• Experience supporting industrial customers in a technical, customer-facing capacity.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, stretch-film applications, pallet wrapping systems, or related equipment preferred.
• Engineering degree or technical educational background is advantageous.
• Ability to diagnose problems, troubleshoot applications, and recommend practical solutions.
• Comfortable presenting technical information and conducting customer training sessions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with commercial, operational, and technical teams.
• Experience working within industrial manufacturing environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, distributors, and commercial teams throughout the U.S.
• Conduct customer site visits and packaging audits to evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Recommend and implement optimized packaging solutions that improve operational efficiency and product performance.
• Provide technical guidance on pallet wrapping systems, packaging equipment, and load containment performance.
• Deliver product training sessions for distributors, operators, and end users.
• Troubleshoot customer challenges and resolve complex application issues.
• Act as the key liaison between customers and internal technical teams.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, quality, supply chain, procurement, and R&D functions to support customer projects.
• Partner with equipment manufacturers and third-party stakeholders to develop effective packaging solutions.
• Support product trials, technical demonstrations, and customer onboarding activities.
• Build strong relationships across the distribution network to increase product adoption and customer satisfaction.
• Contribute technical insights that help drive continuous improvement and business growth.
