Job summary

OTC Industrial Technologies seeks an Applications Engineer to bridge engineering design and customer requirements. You will collaborate with sales, design, and production to develop tailored mechanical solutions and prepare technical documentation.

Responsibilities include evaluating customer specs, proposing configurations, and providing on-site technical support as needed. A Bachelor’s in engineering or related field and 5+ years in rotating equipment are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or similar field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, applications engineering, or project work in rotating equipment industry.
• Experience with EPC contractors.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints or engineering drawings.
• Experience bidding and managing industrial equipment projects.
• Familiarity with distribution model and/or industrial equipment sales.
• Experience with rotating equipment product lines and manufacturers, sizing and selection of pumps and rotating equipment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in a customer-facing technical role.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales, design, and production teams to understand customer needs and develop tailored mechanical solutions.
• Analyze customer specifications and propose suitable product configurations and modifications.
• Prepare technical documentation, including CAD drawings, BOMs, and application reports.
• Provide technical support to customers during pre-sale and post-sale stages, including on-site visits if required.
• Communicate complex technical information clearly to stakeholders.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies.
• Other duties as assigned.
