Job summary

SensoPart is seeking an Application Engineer for our U.S. headquarters in Troy, Michigan.

You will evaluate customer applications, design and validate automation solutions using vision systems, and support integration with PLC- and robot-controlled environments. In this role you will work closely with our engineering team in Germany, travel 20-30% domestically, and deliver training and demonstrations to customers and distributors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience with machine vision systems or optical sensors.
• Extensive experience in factory automation or similar environments.
• Hands-on experience with PLC and/or robot programming.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Clear communication skills and a structured working style.
• Travel 20-30% and valid U.S. driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer applications and conduct feasibility studies using SensoPart vision systems.
• Develop and validate technical solutions for integration into PLC- and robot-controlled environments.
• Support customers during implementation and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot applications both remotely and on-site.
• Deliver technical training and product demonstrations to customers and distributors.
• Collaborate with the engineering team in Germany on complex topics.
