Job summary

Tensor ID, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Application Engineer to support machine vision and automation projects from concept through installation at customer sites in Oceanside, CA.

You will work with customers, sales, and engineering teams to design, test, configure, and support systems in real-world production environments. You will be troubleshooting live equipment, communicating clearly with customers and internal teams, and traveling to sites to install and train staff on new systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in machine vision, automation, controls, or related technical fields.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with logical problem solving.
• Comfortable with Windows PCs, industrial software, networking, IP addresses, Ethernet devices, and basic configuration.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and I/O layouts.

Responsibilities

• Support machine vision and automation projects from initial review through installation and acceptance.
• Configure cameras, lenses, lighting, barcode readers, and PLCs.
• Test and validate inspection applications using vision software, OCR, AI, and defect detection tools.
• Collaborate with customers to understand requirements and production challenges.
• Assist with demonstrations, evaluations, and Feasibility testing; provide reports.
• Install, startup, troubleshoot, train, and provide post-installation service.
• Travel to customer sites for installations, service, and training as needed.
