Job summary

IDEX is seeking an Applications Specialist to provide technical applications and process expertise to support customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. The role is hands-ons and customer-facing, combining laboratory testing, engineering judgment, and technical communication to enable equipment selection, demonstrations, and customer adoption.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Engineering (Process or Mechanical preferred) or equivalent.
• 2–5 years applications engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with powder and liquid processing equipment.
• Strong communication, analytical, and customer-facing skills.
• Travel (regional & international) may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory, pilot, and production-scale testing of customer materials using Fitzpatrick, Quadro and Matcon equipment.
• Analyze test results and prepare clear technical reports and documentation.
• Serve as technical liaison between Customers, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams.
• Support sales activities including demonstrations, presentations, and customer visits.
• Explain and demonstrate equipment operation, capabilities, and benefits.
• Remain current with industry trends, technologies, and customer processes.
