Job summary

IDEX Corporation in Massachusetts is seeking an Applications Specialist who provides technical applications and process expertise to support customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders. The role is hands-on and customer-facing, combining laboratory testing, engineering judgment, and technical communication to enable successful equipment selection, demonstrations, and customer adoption.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in engineering or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years applications engineering experience preferred.
• Hands-on experience with powder and liquid processing equipment.
• Strong communication, analytical and customer-facing skills required.
• Technical applications support for processing equipment.
• Hands-on lab testing, sample evaluation and technical reporting.
• Customer demos, presentations, and travel (regional & international).
• Strong engineering judgment and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory, pilot, and production-scale testing of customer materials using Fitzpatrick, Quadro and Matcon equipment.
• Analyze test results and prepare clear technical reports and documentation.
• Serve as technical liaison between Customers, Sales, Engineering, and Product teams.
• Support sales activities including demonstrations, presentations, and customer visits.
• Explain and demonstrate equipment operation, capabilities, and benefits.
• Remain current with industry trends, technologies, and customer processes.

Position Summary

The Applications Specialist provides technical applications and process expertise to support customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders by translating processing challenges into effective, value-driven equipment solutions. The role is hand-on and customer-facing, combining laboratory testing, engineering judgment, and technical communication to enable successful equipment selection, demonstrations, and customer adoption.

• Conduct laboratory, pilot, and production-scale testing of customer materials using Fitzpatrick, Quadro and Matcon equipment

• Analyze test results and prepare clear technical reports and documentation

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $69,200.00 - $103,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
