Job summary

Zipline is seeking an Applications Engineer Intern to join our Deployment and Construction team in South San Francisco. You will tackle system-level challenges for ground infrastructure and help ensure reliable operation of our drone charging sites.

You will identify off-the-shelf solutions, collaborate with operations and engineering, and help deploy scalable, cost-effective designs for real-world deployments. This is a full-time, on-site internship for Summer 2027.

Qualifications

• Must have completed the second year of undergraduate studies in engineering.
• Masters or PhD students eligible for the internship.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Identify, validate, and integrate off-the-shelf systems for ground infrastructure
• Develop and deploy system improvements for Platform 2 ground systems
• Evaluate external vendors to source high-availability, low-cost products
• Translate site requirements into deployable, field-ready solutions
