Job summary

Hyper Solutions Inc. in Richmond, VA is seeking an Applications Engineer for Integrated Modular Solutions. You will translate customer requirements into technically sound, manufacturable modular infrastructure configurations for hyperscale and HPC data centers.

Responsibilities include RFQ/RFP review, pre-sale designs, cost and BOM support, and ensuring compliance with NEC/UL/ANSI standards. Onsite in Richmond, with potential remote work depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent industry experience).
• 3–7 years of data center infrastructure or modular infrastructure experience.
• Strong understanding of low-voltage power distribution systems (switchboards, PDUs, RPPs, STSs, transformers, control systems).
• Experience reviewing RFQ/RFI/RFP documentation and customer specs.
• Familiarity with one-line diagrams, power system architecture, and equipment configuration principles.

Responsibilities

• Review RFQs, RFPs, and customer technical specifications to define project scope, compliance requirements, and configuration strategy.
• Develop pre-sale technical designs including diagrams, system layouts, equipment selection, and modular configuration concepts.
• Prepare technical quotation packages with Sales, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
• Support cost development, BOMs, major equipment selections, and integration requirements.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, IEEE, and regional certification programs.
