Job summary

Hyper Solutions Inc. is seeking a Power Applications Engineer - Switchboard in Richmond, VA, with onsite or remote options.

The role focuses on designing mission-critical electrical distribution for data centers and critical infrastructure, collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing to deliver compliant, manufacturable solutions. The candidate will develop one-line diagrams, configurations, and BOMs, while ensuring adherence to standards and providing technical guidance across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience supporting data center, critical power or low-voltage distribution systems with a focus on switchboards and switchgear solutions.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards including NEC, UL, ANSI, NEMA, NFPA, IEEE and IEC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales and customers to develop mission-critical power distribution solutions.
• Create, review, and support pre-sale technical designs including one-line diagrams and configurations.
• Ensure proposed solutions comply with NEC/UL/IEEE/IEC standards.
• Evaluate customer specifications and provide guidance for data center architectures.
• Prepare submittal documentation including drawings and BOMs.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing to align configuration and lead times.
• Support development of configuration tools and workflows.
• Serve as a technical resource for switchboards and power quality solutions.
• Support RFIs/RFPs with technical presentations.
• Participate in design reviews and FAT support.
• Provide technical training to Sales and internal stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of standards and documentation.
• Refine configuration methodologies and best practices.
