Job summary

Wilden Pump & Engineering LLC in California seeks an Applications Engineer to respond to inquiries from sales and customers about product technical aspects, lead training on selection and troubleshooting, and review specifications to generate proposals.

You will develop knowledge of our pumps, perform technical support for channel partners and end users, travel limited, and participate in market activities. Hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience as an Applications Engineer.
  • Experience in pumps, valves, system design.

Responsibilities

  • Guide sales team and partners on product selection and quotation.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for channel partners and end users.
  • Conduct technical training for internal teams and channel partners.
  • Support marketing activities with technical content and events.

Job description

The Applications Engineer responds to inquiries from the organization's sales force or customers about the technical aspects of the organization's products and services. Leads technical training about product selection, performance, and troubleshooting. Reviews engineering specifications and generates proposals. Develop skills and knowledge of the organization's products and services.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent relevant education and work experience.

Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience with engineering degree (Applications Engineer)
  • Relevant industry experience (pumps, valves, system design, rotating equipment, etc.) desired
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Able to quickly learn products in detail which includes the operating principles and performance characteristics.
  • Ability to professionally interact with customers on technical matters
  • Ability to select a pump and/or accessories based on application requirements
  • Ability to analyze a mechanical system and provide technical guidance for operation and troubleshooting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Highly organized and efficient in approaching tasks
  • A self-starter with ability to solve problems and anticipate and avoid issues
  • Clear, concise, and articulate communication skills - verbal, written and listening
  • Strong team player, work ethic and commitment to win
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance to sales team and channel partners for selection, configuration, and quotation of products.
  • Provides technical support and troubleshooting for channel partners and end users.
  • Conducts technical training of internal team members, channel partners, and other industry participants, such as EPCs, consultants, and end users.
  • Provides technical support in marketing activities such as creation of market literature, preparing for and supporting trade shows, industry events and PSG product training and customer events.
  • Conduct market research through trade associations, internet investigation and corporate services.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provide reports, on a regular basis.
  • Investigate market needs for innovative products and communicate them to Product Management as opportunities for product development.
  • Follows all company processes and policies pertaining to role.
  • Other duties as assigned

The work is predominantly sedentary and requires minimal or negligible physical exertion. The employee is normally seated; however, the nature of the work allows for periods of standing or walking at will. Work Environment:

The environment is primarily in a controlled climate office setting but will also require time on the manufacturing floor. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature, and the employee may be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.

Pay Range:

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00 USD Annually
