Job summary

PSG, a Dover company, seeks an Applications Engineer in Grand Terrace, CA to support the sales force and customers with the technical aspects of our products and services.

You will lead technical training on product selection, performance, and troubleshooting, review engineering specs, prepare proposals, and provide guidance on pump choices and integration.

This role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 2+ years of relevant experience, with limited travel and a hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Ability to select pump and accessories based on application requirements.
• Ability to analyze mechanical systems and provide troubleshooting guidance.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to sales team and channel partners for product selection, configuration and quotation.
• Offer technical support and troubleshooting for channel partners and end users.
• Conduct technical training for internal teams, partners, and customers.
• Support marketing activities such as creating market literature and participating in trade shows and events.
• Conduct market research through trade associations and online sources.

Job description

The Applications Engineer responds to inquiries from the organization's sales force or customers about the technical aspects of the organization's products and services. Leads technical training about product selection, performance, and troubleshooting. Reviews engineering specifications and generates proposals. Develop skills and knowledge of the organization's products and services.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or equivalent relevant education and work experience.

Experience:

• 2+ years of experience with engineering degree (Applications Engineer)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Able to quickly learn products in detail which includes the operating principles and performance characteristics.
• Ability to professionally interact with customers on technical matters
• Ability to select a pump and/or accessories based on application requirements
• Ability to analyze a mechanical system and provide technical guidance for operation and troubleshooting
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance to sales team and channel partners for selection, configuration, and quotation of products.
• Provides technical support and troubleshooting for channel partners and end users.
• Conducts technical training of internal team members, channel partners, and other industry participants, such as EPCs, consultants, and end users.
• Provides technical support in marketing activities such as creation of market literature, preparing for and supporting trade shows, industry events and PSG product training and customer events.
• Conduct market research through trade associations, internet investigation and corporate services.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provide reports, on a regular basis.

The work is predominantly sedentary and requires minimal or negligible physical exertion. Work Environment:

The environment is primarily in a controlled climate office setting but will also require time on the manufacturing floor. The manufacturing environment is subject to moderate changes in temperature, and the employee may be exposed to typical hazards of noise, flying debris, and overhead hazards requiring the use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
