Job summary

Freudenberg Flow Technologies LLC in Georgia is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead both strategic and daily engineering activities for the Connectors team. You will support North American customers and work with SolidWorks CAD and Mathcad to develop reliable solutions.

You will drive new product development, design reviews, and engineering evaluations while applying ASME VIII, NORSOK, and API standards to deliver cost-effective results and collaborate with cross-functional

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of practical engineering experience in the oil and gas industry, preferably with pressure-containing connections (e.g., flanges, piping systems, or subsea connections).
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, including ASME Section VIII, NORSOK, and API, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of metal-to-metal sealing products preferred.
  • Working knowledge of buoyancy system products preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate highly complex concepts, anticipate potential objections, and influence senior-level stakeholders to consider alternative viewpoints.
  • Results-driven, with the ability to establish, monitor, and effectively manage the achievement of technical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Support the existing and growing customer base in North America.
  • Manage daily engineering activities, processes, and technical inquiries, serving as a source of expertise for the business, colleagues, and customers.
  • Work closely with various FFL teams to identify customer technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Utilize strong CAD skills, with SolidWorks preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Mathcad is advantageous.
  • Anticipate engineering challenges and recommend new product development opportunities when needed.
  • Interface directly with customers who are recognized subject matter experts within their industries.
  • Perform New Product Development (NPD) activities, including calculations, design reviews, engineering evaluations, and adherence to best practices to ensure projects are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the introduction and expansion of existing HIC products into new markets.
