Job summary

8tree seeks an Applications Engineer in Dallas, Texas to support pre- and post-sales activities for aerospace, aviation and wind-turbine customers across the Americas.

You will deploy tools, troubleshoot hardware and software, and collaborate with internal teams while traveling up to 50% to customer sites in the region.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship required.
  • In-office position (not remote).
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 2-5 years in a customer-facing technical role.
  • Robust hardware and software debugging skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to ~50%.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful long-term deployment and integration of our tools into customer workflows.
  • Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal product teams to support 8tree’s hardware and software development lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and system level troubleshooting to existing customers.
  • Get involved in engineering activities that fuel the customer experience, including testing and new feature definition.
  • Assist Business Development with pre-sales activities, e.g. customer demos and trade shows.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with technical counterparts at the customer.
  • No two days are alike, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment.

This role focuses on pre- and post-sales activities among our growing base of Aerospace, Aviation and Wind-turbine blade customers in the Americas.

Tasks

Requirements

Must-have Requirements

  • US citizenship required – no exceptions.
  • In-office position (not remote) – no exceptions.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering (preferably aerospace, electrical, mechanical) or related discipline
  • 2-5 years in customer-facing technical role
  • Robust hardware & software debugging skills to resolve technical issues
  • Strong computer skills and experience with engineering applications
  • Willingness to travel up to ~50%

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience with 3D metrology, NDT, or quality inspection systems
  • Experience in quality engineering for Aviation-MRO / Aerospace / Wind-Turbine / Automotive industries
