WesTech Engineering, LLC is seeking an Applications Engineer 1 or 2 to assist with estimation efforts and proposal creation for Water Treatment projects. You will bid plants with various equipment, compile engineering docs for bids, and work with vendors to ensure accurate, compelling proposals.

This role collaborates with WesTech’s rentals and plant operations estimating team; you should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of communicating with Project Managers, Designers, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field or core science with strong problem-solving skills.
• Entry level position; 0–2 years of related experience or internship preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to ~25%.
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of chemistry and physics.
• Proficient with computers; good time management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Review and create specifications from contractors/engineers; develop equipment specs for customers and fabricators.
• Prepare, maintain, and review technical drawings and P&IDs.

Summary

WesTech is in search of an Applications Engineer 1 or 2 who will support estimation efforts and proposal creation for Water Treatment projects. Tasks will include bidding water treatment plants with various equipment, compiling sales level engineering documentation for construction bids, and working with various vendors. Employees who succeed in this role are typically highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work with a large variety of people. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments.

This position will specifically work with WesTech’s rentals and plant operations estimating team. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments.

Some of the work you will do:

• Review and or create specifications from contractors and engineers; develop equipment specifications for customers and fabricators
• Prepare, maintain, and review documentation, including technical drawings and P&IDs
• Organize, prepare, and review Water Treatment proposals
• Perform and interpret basic project-related calculations; respond to technical clarifications from customers
• Collaborate with the Regional Sales Manager and Sales Agent to develop sales strategies
• Conduct technical sales presentations with customers
• Work with various vendors and interdepartmental applications engineers
• Communicate project scope and details to Project Managers and Designers
• Conduct Peer review of bids

Here are the skills that you need:

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Biological, or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) or core science / math degrees with strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience:This is an entry level position. Preferred 1-2+ years of related experience or prior internship experience in a related field.
• Willingness to travel (up to ~25%)
• Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Solid understanding of chemistry and physics
• Proficient in computer applications and time management
• Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
