Job summary

Broadcom Inc. is seeking an Apps Engineer to work with users and internal teams to deploy and support Broadcom’s switching platforms for high‑speed Ethernet and next‑gen AI fabric deployments.

You will run benchmarks, tune performance, and collaborate on SAI integration, RDMA, and topology considerations across L2/L3 features to ensure robust AI/ML data center operations.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's in CS/EE or equivalent with extensive networking experience.
• 15+ years in networking for Bachelor’s path or 13+ years for Master’s path.
• Experience with SAI/SDK, NOS integration, and Broadcom XGS/DNX platforms.

• Assist users deploying Broadcom switch and NIC solutions for HPC/AI data centers.
• Run benchmarks and tune performance (congestion control, load balancing, QoS).

Job Description

Broadcom's Core Switching Group builds the high-speed Ethernet silicon and software behind hyper-scale, and AI/ML data centers. As an Applications Engineer, you will work directly with users and internal engineering to deploy and support Broadcom's switching platforms including next-gen AI fabric deployments.

Responsibilities

• Support high-speed Ethernet switching designs, packet forwarding pipelines, and embedded software.
• Help users deploy Broadcom switch and NIC solutions for HPC and AI/ML data centers.
• Run benchmarks and tune performance (congestion control, load balancing, QoS).
• Work with users on SAI and SDK integration and validation.
• Support features across L2/L3, VLAN, VxLAN, SRv6, ACL/FP, IP Tunneling, Multicast, RoCE.
• Guide users on AI fabric design, RDMA, congestion tuning, topology, and collective-traffic behavior.
• Deliver high-quality technical support and collateral, both independently and as part of a team.
• Pragmatically manage customer and engineering communications with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and long-term value.

Desired Skills

• Networking RDMA, high-performance networking (RoCEv2, Ethernet), network architecture and topologies
• Working knowledge of L2/L3 switching, VLAN, VxLAN, SRv6, ACL/FP, IP Tunneling, and Multicast End-to-end congestion techniques (PFC, ECN, DCQCN)
• Embedded software debugging Linux kernel and kernel networking (added advantage)
• SAI / SDK Hands-on SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface) API development, porting, or ASIC SDK integration
• SAI object model (switch, port, VLAN, route, next-hop, ACL, tunnel) and its mapping to hardware pipeline resources
• SAI integration with NOS stacks like SONiC or others on Broadcom XGS/DNX (Tomahawk/Trident/Jericho)
• Debugging or extending SAI implementations, including SAI-to-SDK translation issues
• Exposure to SAI in multi-vendor NOS ecosystems (plus)
• AI/ML Fabrics HPC and AI/ML data center operational models (plus)
• Understanding on High-radix fabric topologies for GPU/accelerator clusters (plus)
• Telemetry-driven network operations in-band/out-of-band and streaming telemetry for AI fabric health and congestion diagnosis (plus)
• Strong problem-solving, self-driven, detail-oriented
• Excellent written/verbal communication

Education

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering with 15+ years, or Master's with 13+ years of work experience in the networking domain.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 167,500.00 To USD 268,000.00 As a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and the opportunity to receive not only a competitive new hire equity grant, but also annual equity awards, connecting your success directly to the company's growth. All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements.
