Salvagnini America, Inc. seeks an Application Engineer to support customers, sales and aftersales in a dynamic, cross-functional role. You will develop expertise in Salvagnini technologies, coordinate with teams in the US and Europe, and assist with software testing prior to release.
The position emphasizes problem solving, attention to detail, and clear communication as you contribute to feasibility studies, demonstrations, and technical support across locations.
The Application Engineering role is multifaceted and serves important functions across several departments within the Salvagnini Group. Tasks will vary from time to time, but at the core of these assignments is the concept of technical competence for a given technology/technologies.
This role will support our customers, sales & marketing teams, as well as our aftersales group. Developing and maintain competence in a given technology by working with experts locally and in Europe; as well as, staying current with changes and updates made by our production facilities and in the industry at large.
This role requires becoming proficient in our proprietary software packages and supporting customers and technicians in their use. Additionally, testing new versions of software to ensure compatibility and gain competence in them prior to public release may be required.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Frequent US and occasional international travel will be required, up to 20%, including weekends. You must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport. The individual must possess a valid driver's license, pass a motor vehicle record check, and have the unrestricted ability to obtain rental vehicles.
A solid understanding of mathematics, including both algebraic (add, subtract, multiply, divide, etc.) and geometric (area, surface area, volume, etc.) are required. Familiarity with both metric and imperial systems of measure. Ability to read and calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and the ability to interpret and produce graphical representations thereof.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
The ability to recognize and evaluate technical issues and limitations is required. The ability to define and manage expectations is critical. The ability to make sound decisions and actions is required.
Candidate must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. without restrictions. Walking distances, transporting bags or cases through the Customer's location is required. Climbing steps and ladders, working in areas offering tight access is required.
