Job summary

Continuum Resource Network in Foster City seeks an Applications Engineer to support configuration, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of ALM systems and engineering applications. You will serve as the onsite resource for internal engineering users, troubleshoot issues, and partner with offshore teams to resolve production problems.

The role involves configuring workflows, reports, and integrations, with hands-on scripting in Java, JavaScript, Velocity, or Python, and contributing to upgrades

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, Velocity, and Python.
• Experience using Polarion within a regulated industry preferred, but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, Postgres).

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite ALM and engineering application support within the Foster City office.
• Partner with engineering users and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and gather requirements.
• Support application configuration, workflow updates, permissions management, access changes, and production support.
• Assist with requirements management workflows including drafting, approvals, signoff, and release management.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, live reports, and reporting solutions.
• Support minor scripting and technical fixes using Java, JavaScript, Velocity, Python.
• Collaborate with offshore resources and cross-functional teams on tickets and upgrades.
• Monitor application performance and assist with troubleshooting and escalation.
• Participate in planned upgrades, maintenance activities, and occasional weekend deployments.
• Evaluate and support new tools, integrations, and engineering system enhancements.

Job description

We are helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find an Applications Engineer to support the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) systems and engineering applications.

In this role, you'll serve as a key onsite resource supporting internal engineering users and business stakeholders within a fast-paced technical environment. You'll help manage application configurations, workflows, reporting, integrations, and user support activities while partnering closely with infrastructure, engineering, and offshore support teams to maintain and improve critical engineering systems.

The ideal candidate is technically strong, customer-focused, and comfortable supporting enterprise applications while making hands-on configuration or scripting updates when needed.

As an Applications Engineer, you'll:

• Serve as the onsite point of contact for ALM and engineering application support within the Foster City office.
• Partner directly with engineering users and stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, gather requirements, and provide application support.
• Support application configuration, workflow updates, permissions management, access changes, and production support activities.
• Assist with requirements management workflows, including drafting, approvals, signoff, release management, and supplier-facing processes.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, live reports, and reporting solutions to support engineering and operational visibility.
• Support minor scripting, configuration, and technical fixes using Java, JavaScript, Velocity, Python, or related technologies.
• Collaborate with offshore resources and cross-functional teams on tickets, enhancements, upgrades, and system improvements.
• Monitor application performance and support troubleshooting, issue escalation, and resolution activities.
• Participate in planned upgrades, maintenance activities, and deployments, including occasional scheduled weekend support.
• Evaluate and support new tools, integrations, and engineering system enhancements as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Development experience in Java, Javascript, Velocity and Python
• Experience using Polarion within a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, financial, automotive, etc) preferred, but not required.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility, willingness to learn, and a demonstrated ability to come up to speed quickly on new technologies and technical issues
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, Postgres)
