Job summary

TRUMPF in Costa Mesa, CA, is seeking an Applications Engineer to support the Sales and Applications teams with product demonstrations, time studies and post-installation customer support. The role focuses on Punching and bending technology and collaboration with product centers for continuous improvements.

You will engage customers, perform parts analysis, and train users on programming and operation of equipment, with up to 25% travel across the USA, Mexico and Canada.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-year technical school degree with a solid math background.
• Experience with CAD, programming and machine tool product knowledge desired.
• Excellent communication skills in written and verbal; extensive customer contact required.
• Ability to regularly lift 40 lbs and operate forklifts/overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct best-in-class customer product and production flow demonstrations and attend trade shows to increase product sales with a focus on Punching and combination machines.
• Provide customer application & sales support utilizing TRUMPF digital solutions.
• Perform parts analysis for producibility / time studies and produce customer sample parts.
• Continuously excel the technology knowledge by training and testing functions of the machine.
• Be responsible for the assigned technology in the production showroom environment.
• Organize and provide customer product training courses with a focus on programming and operating equipment.

Experience with CAD, programming and machine tool product knowledge desired. Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and production software systems. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal are required as this position involves extensive contact with customers and sales representatives. Ability to regularly lift 40 lbs. and willing to operate forklifts / overhead cranes.## ## **Education**## Minimum 2-year technical school degree with a solid math background or the suitable equivalent of education and work experience. **Pay Range: $34.43 - $46.59**
