Job summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking an Applications Engineer I to support our Production Software division and ESPRIT CAD/CAM solutions in the Midwest. This role provides pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, helping them implement and utilize Hexagon's CAD/CAM software solutions within their manufacturing environments.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field and an interest in CAD/CAM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software and manufacturing processes.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% annually.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex software and manufacturing applications.

Summary

Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence is seeking an Applications Engineer I to support our Production Software division and ESPRIT CAD/CAM solutions in the Midwest.

This role provides pre-sales and post-sales technical support to customers, helping them successfully implement and utilize Hexagon's CAD/CAM software solutions within their manufacturing environments. The Applications Engineer will serve as a technical resource for customers and internal teams, providing troubleshooting, training, application support, and customized solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or a related field and an interest in CAD/CAM technology, CNC machining, and manufacturing processes. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with customers, collaborate with software development teams, and develop expertise across Hexagon's Production Software portfolio.

What You'll Do

• Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support for ESPRIT CAD/CAM software solutions.
• Serve as a technical resource for customers, helping troubleshoot software, programming, and application-related challenges.
• Support customers with the implementation and effective use of Hexagon Production Software solutions.
• Collaborate with software development and product teams to communicate customer feedback and support continued product improvement and growth.
• Develop customized software and application solutions to meet customer and industry partner requirements.
• Create, maintain, and deliver technical training materials and curriculum for customers and partners.
• Conduct technical demonstrations, training sessions, and application support both virtually and onsite.
• Travel to customer and industry partner facilities to execute projects, provide technical assistance, and conduct advanced training.
• Develop strong working relationships with customers, partners, and internal teams throughout the manufacturing industry.
• Apply practical problem-solving skills to identify customer needs and recommend effective technical solutions.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and other internal teams to support customer success.
• Stay current on CAD/CAM technology, CNC machining, manufacturing processes, and Hexagon software capabilities.

Qualifications

Required

• Must be located within the Midwest territory of the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience with or knowledge of CAD/CAM software and manufacturing processes.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex software and manufacturing applications.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and commercial teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% annualy.

Preferred

• Hands-on experience with CAD/CAM software.
• Experience with CNC machining and part programming.
• Knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and manufacturing environments.
• Previous experience providing technical support, applications engineering, customer training, or software implementation support.
• Experience working directly with customers in a technical environment.

Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office or technical work environment, with regular interaction with customers and internal teams. The role may also require visits to manufacturing facilities, customer sites, and factory environments.

• Frequently works in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Regularly uses computers, keyboards, and other office or technical equipment.
• May regularly move throughout office, training, customer, and manufacturing environments.
• May occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Requires the ability to communicate frequently with customers, partners, and employees.
• Office noise levels are generally low to moderate; manufacturing and factory environments may have moderate noise levels.
• Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided when required.
• Travel may be required up to 50% annually.
