Job summary

Southern Company Gas is seeking an Application Developer, II to design and develop custom applications supporting Gas Technology Services. You will work with limited supervision, applying a range of languages, web technologies, cognitive services, integration tools and mobile development.

You will collaborate with Senior Programmers, translate specifications into code, perform unit testing, participate in deployments, and provide on-call support while building skills to handle more complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science or a related field.
• Full working knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle and development principles.
• Experience with Agile delivery; Kanban; Scrum.
• Exposure to software development projects.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop custom applications to support Southern Company Gas systems.
• Collaborate with Senior Programmers to plan coding and development.
• Translate specifications into code meeting performance requirements.
• Modify existing software to correct errors and upgrade interfaces.
• Troubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing software with supervision.
• Participate in deployment activities and production support.
• Provide on-call support for moderate problems and incidents.
• Ensure alignment with Technology Organization goals.
