The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is the state's lead economic and community development agency. MDA recruits new companies to Mississippi, helps existing companies expand and provides support to foster growth and new opportunities in a variety of areas, including energy, small and minority business, trade, film, retiree recruitment and more. Additionally, MDA attracts millions of visitors to the state each year through Visit Mississippi, the tourism division of the agency. The Applications Developer II is responsible for applying knowledge and experience in application development and support to code, test, debug, document, implement, enhance, and maintain software applications. This role performs moderately complex assignments that may require the development of new or improved applications, processes, or techniques. The position requires the ability to understand client needs and technical requirements in order to determine and implement appropriate solutions. The incumbent will act with independence and may be accountable for a significant portion of a large project or application enhancement.
Typically requires a relevant Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of experience.
Agency preferred qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5+ years of IT experience with emphasis in applications development and support.
