Job summary

Microvast seeks an Application System Engineer to bridge customers and internal engineering teams. You will support development, integration, and execution of battery system and electrification projects, ensuring technical alignment and successful delivery.

The role involves technical liaison across departments, documentation, and remote/onsite commissioning support, with emphasis on Li-ion systems and powertrains within a government contractor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in automotive/electrification/energy storage/lithium-ion battery industry.
• Experience with requirements management and product development processes (IATF16949, APQP, V-Model).
• Technical expertise in lithium-ion battery systems, energy storage, EV powertrains, or related tech.
• Understanding of advanced quality planning and quality assurance in product development.
• MS Office and engineering analysis tools (CANalyzer, MATLAB) experience required.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract/regs; defense/government experience preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and technical project management for battery system programs.
• Develop technical layouts, concepts, and proposals in response to customer requirements and inquiries.
• Coordinate system interfaces across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other internal departments while serving as a technical liaison with customers.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and project records.
• Collaborate with teams across multiple locations to improve project execution, efficiency, and communication.
• Support structured root cause investigations and resolve technical non-conformance issues related to component or system performance.
• Utilize engineering tools and software to support product development and analysis activities.
• Provide technical support to various teams throughout the organization.
• Assist with product commissioning activities internally and at customer sites, both remotely and onsite.
• Support prototype development, testing, and validation efforts.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in the automotive, electrification, energy storage, or lithium-ion battery industry.
• Knowledge of requirements management and product development processes, including methodologies such as IATF 16949, APQP, V-Model, or similar frameworks.
• Technical expertise in lithium-ion battery systems, energy storage systems, electric vehicle powertrains, or related technologies.
• Understanding of advanced quality planning and quality assurance processes within product development environments.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and engineering analysis tools such as CANalyzer, MATLAB, or similar applications.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting defense, military, or government programs preferred.
