Job summary

LSU New Orleans seeks a Training & LMS Specialist to develop and deliver technical training content for LDH and UNO contract employees. You will plan and present classes in person and online, build guides and videos, and manage LMS materials.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s or an associate degree with multiple years of training or content development experience, plus strong public speaking and communication skills. Occasional travel within Louisiana may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical training content development and delivery.
  • Develop and maintain department documentation.
  • Create training materials (guides, videos, PowerPoint) for LDH and UNO contract employees.
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule and present training classes (in person and online); travel within Louisiana may be required.
  • Assist in course development of special topics as defined by state officials.
  • Manage Learning Management System content for LDH.
  • Evaluate training programs and assess needs via surveys and evaluations.
  • Audit and update LMS user accounts and run ad-hoc reports for LDH management.
  • Lead in pressing unit matters and mentor new staff; implement new processes.

Department Application Support and Training Operations

Job Summary

Job Description Provide technical support by diagnosing technical problems and identifying appropriate solutions through research. Develop and maintain internal department documentation. Develop, produce, distribute, and update training materials in the form of guides, videos, PowerPoint presentations, etc. to LDH and UNO contract employees. Plan, coordinate, schedule and present training classes in person and via online meetings; may include travel to locations within Louisiana. Assist in course development of special topics as defined by state officials. Manage the Learning Management System content, serving all of LDH. Evaluate training programs and assesses technical training needs for LDH and contract employees by survey, interview and participant evaluation; Provides follow up support and further training. Adhere to and communicates policies, rules, and regulations relating to technology use. Assist in setup and support at various workshops and conferences. Prepare required administrative forms associated with travel and material requisition for trainings. Research educational resources for internal use. Audit and update LMS user account information and runs ad-hoc reports as needed for LDH management. Take lead role with pressing unit matters and work with unit supervisor to address properly. Take lead role in training new unit employees. Work with unit supervisor to develop and implement plans for new process implementation. Other tasks as directed.
