Job summary

BCforward seeks an Application Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong Linux and Windows systems administration, middleware support, and experience with application operations, builds, and patching.

The role requires coordinating OS/middleware tasks, incident follow-ups, and supporting application managers. Hybrid schedule with onsite presence three days per week in acceptable locations.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Linux command line for OS and major middleware support.
• Windows OS administration skills and middleware familiarity (IIS/Apache).
• Experience using JIRA for task and incident tracking; basic cross-team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic OS troubleshooting on Linux and Windows environments.
• Manage certificates and support password rotations for application components.
• Coordinate server and software builds for development and test teams.
• Plan and execute OS and middleware patching activities.
• Support application manager with execution of operational tasks and incident follow-ups.
• Use Splunk and MongoDB tools for basic troubleshooting and monitoring.
• Collaborate across multiple teams using JIRA to track work and issues.

Work Arrangement and Notes

Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite. Approved locations: Charlotte, NC; Plano, TX; Jersey City, NJ. Locations must be listed on resume. Maximum submissions per supplier: 4.
