Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Richmond, VA seeks an Application Support Engineer II to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve escalated incidents across enterprise platforms.

You will lead root-cause analysis and implement fixes to improve stability while collaborating with development teams and other engineers. The role is part of Ryder’s Technology Talent Incubator Program, offering hands-on experience with cloud platforms, cybersecurity, data engineering, and AI, along with mentorship and growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, MIS, or related field.
• 2–4 years in application support or development.
• Programming experience: SQL, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience with SQL/data querying and APIs/integrations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex incidents across applications and integrations.
• Perform advanced data analysis and debugging to identify root causes of system issues.
• Implement configuration changes and light development fixes to improve performance.
• Own issues end-to-end including diagnosis, resolution, validation, and documentation.
• Identify systemic issues and contribute to long-term solutions and process improvements.
• Partner with development teams to refine escalations and reduce repeat issues.
• Contribute to knowledge base improvements and automation opportunities.
