Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Professional Services Consultant for Application Security and Performance in Austin, TX. You will be an individual contributor delivering post-sales advisory and hands-on implementation for enterprise customers across Layer 7 products including DDoS Protection, WAF, API Gateway, Bot Management, Certificates Manager, and more.

Travel up to 30% and a Monday–Friday schedule are typical; occasional weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of customer-facing experience in technical roles such as Customer Engineer, Security Engineer, or Consultant.
• Deep understanding of OSI layers and protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, DNS, HTTP).
• Strong knowledge of security tech: DDoS, WAF, Certificates, DNS, CDN, analytics and logs.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, Bash).
• Experience with security/infra tools and IaC (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver timely, value-driven services for enterprise customers.
• Produce design artifacts and migration plans (HLD/LLD, data builds, scripts, tests).
• Implement changes in Cloudflare environments following change-management processes.
• Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with support, engineering, and other teams.
• Contribute to documentation, runbooks, templates, and automation assets.
