Job summary

KellyMitchell Group partners with a leading airline provider to recruit an Application Security Engineer for a contract role in Fort Worth, TX. The position is hybrid, onsite three days per week, and supports the global Technology Risk Management team.

You will strengthen application security across the SDLC, develop security standards and controls, and help secure APIs and software development across multiple languages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering.
• Strong background in application security.
• Understanding of application security vulnerabilities across applications developed in multiple programming languages.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#.
• Experience using Python, Java, or PowerShell for security automation and security tool integrations.
• Experience with application security concepts, secure coding practices, and vulnerability management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain application security standards, secure coding requirements, and security controls across the SDLC
• Define and implement application and API security requirements, including secure architecture, authentication, authorization, and data protection controls
• Establish and operationalize application security best practices, including threat modeling, secure design reviews, and vulnerability management
• Configure, maintain, and optimize application security tools including SAST, SCA, DAST, secret scanning, API security, and vulnerability management platforms
• Translate application security policies, standards, and architectural requirements into scalable security controls and governance processes
• Develop security automation and developer-focused security solutions to improve application security and vulnerability management
• Collaborate with security professionals, developers, project teams, and stakeholders to identify and address application security risks
