Job summary

The Employee Connect seeks an Application Security Engineer specializing in data security for a hybrid Plano, TX engagement. You will protect enterprise applications and sensitive data, partnering with development teams to embed controls from design through deployment.

You will perform threat modelling, risk assessments, and implement encryption, tokenization, and data loss prevention. Strong SDLC, CI/CD, and cloud security experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Prior application security engineering experience with hands-on tooling and remediation.
• Practical data security experience: encryption, key management, tokenization or masking, data classification, and OWASP STop Ten awareness.
• Working knowledge of secure SDLC, CI/CD integration, and cloud application security; scripting/coding ability to read and automate code; onsite Plano, TX on hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assess and improve security posture of enterprise applications with design reviews, threat modelling, and architecture assessments focused on data handling.
• Implement and support data protection controls (encryption at rest/in transit, tokenization, masking, key management, DLP) with product teams.
• Run and interpret application security testing (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning); triage findings and drive remediation to closure.
• Integrate security tooling into CI/CD pipelines; define secure coding standards and guardrails; advise on secure design patterns.
• Contribute to security standards and reference architecture for data handling and assess third-party integrations.
