Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Jersey City is seeking an Application Security Engineer within ATG Security to lead security within applications and collaborate with development teams to maintain a high security bar. You will mentor security champions and drive threat modeling, code reviews, and security testing.

You will also embrace GenAI security challenges, partner with engineering teams across AWS services and entertainment products, and help deliver secure customer experiences at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent is required or 3+ years of security-related experience.
• 3+ years of scripting, programming, or security code review in Python, Java or C++.
• Experience with threat modeling, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security.
• Knowledge of industry-based security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide durable, technical security guidance to mitigate identified risks.
• Review existing processes and suggest improvements for increased security and efficiency.
• Independently solve security problems that require novel methods or approaches.
• Embrace GenAI and the security challenges it brings, to guide builders in leveraging GenAI securely.
• Participate in and support application security reviews that include threat modeling, code review, and security testing.
• Mentor and guide security champions embedded throughout the engineering team.
