Application Security Architect & Developer (Remote in San Francisco)

Salary: $130,000-$180,000

A software security company with a global team is seeking an experienced Application Security Architect & Developer.

As an Application Security Architect & Developer, you will design, develop, and deploy advanced security mechanisms to protect applications in cloud and private data center environments. You will leverage your understanding of application runtimes and threats to create robust protections, from prototypes to production code.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop security protection mechanisms at user and Linux kernel levels.
• Create prototypes and solutions for vulnerability detection and exploit prevention.
• Deploy security solutions across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and private data centers.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in application security development or monitoring for enterprise applications.
• Deep understanding of application runtime behavior and security vulnerabilities.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, Rust, and C/C++.
• Experience with modern backend frameworks (e.g., Django, Spring, Flask, NestJS, ASP.NET).
• Solid experience with containers, Kubernetes, Linux applications, and the Linux kernel.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.

Desired Skills:

• Experience with microservices architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AI and Machine Learning in security contexts.
• Expertise in Linux Kernel security/monitoring and eBPF.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry and similar monitoring tools.
