As an Application Scientist, you will be part of our marketing and sales team in Boston. With the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to solve new technical challenges, you will be making a significant contribution to the success of our fast-growing company. This is a great chance to transition directly from an academic path into a role within a dynamic company environment that allows you to stay at the cutting edge of technology.

Your responsibilities
  • Provide expert application support to customers across the US working with ZI's T&M instruments (lock-in amplifiers, impedance analyzers, AWGs)
  • Conduct onsite system integration, demos, and training at customer laboratories
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to support sales growth and customer retention
  • Represent Zurich Instruments at trade shows, conferences, and academic events across the US
  • Collaborate with the global sales and product teams to relay customer feedback and application insights
  • Produce technical content including application notes, presentations, product documentation, and demo videos
  • Actively develop your commercial skills in a role that blends deep technical work with customer-facing impact
Your profile
  • PhD or Master's in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related experimental science with hands-on lab experience
  • Solid practical experience with dynamic signal measurement — familiarity with lock-in detection, impedance spectroscopy, or waveform generation is a strong plus
  • Comfortable with scientific programming, ideally Python, for instrument control and data analysis
  • Strong communicator who can explain complex technical concepts clearly to both academic and industrial audiences
  • Customer-oriented mindset with a genuine interest in building relationships and developing commercial skills
  • Self-driven, proactive, and comfortable working independently across a large territory

We offer a diverse work environment with an open and transparent company culture where personal development forms the basis of our success. We thrive on cooperation andsupportdistributed decision-making that allows everyone to take responsibility and generate substantial impact from the start and on many levels.

We provide a competitive remuneration and benefits package, including paid vacation and sick time in addition to US national holidays, and we support a healthy work-life balance.
