Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or 8 years of application review experience and familiarity with the Slate CRM. Hours peak during October and November, with 15–28 hours per week commitment; background checks are required.

Outside readers are trained by Miami University Office of Admission staff to review applications for first-year undergraduate admission to Miami. This mission-critical position is essential to ensuring that the ~43,000 applications Miami receives annually are reviewed in a thorough, fair, and timely manner.
Only applicants with a permanent address in Ohio, Kentucky, or Indiana are eligible for this position.
