Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Kansas City, MO seeks an IT Applications Operations professional responsible for tier 2 support of enterprise applications, monitoring performance, deployments, and documentation. This in-office role participates in 24/7 on-call rotation and serves as escalation point for Service Desk.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree in CS or related field with several years of experience; in lieu, 6 years.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with 4 years’ relevant experience.
• In lieu of education, 6 years of relevant enterprise-app experience.
• Strong understanding of enterprise level applications and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provides tier 2 support and maintenance of enterprise applications to meet daily operational needs.
• May act as escalation point if needed.
• Configures and upgrades applications to meet daily operational needs.
• Implements and maintains customizations of applications including reports, dashboards, and workflows.
• Implements and maintains third-party software connections to support business needs.
• Assists with debugging system integration and functionality issues including vendor support for defect resolution.
• Documents and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity and change protocols.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of application functionality and integration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

This opportunity entails being responsible for advanced troubleshooting and resolving intermediate enterprise application issues assigned to the team. Also responsible for monitoring enterprise application performance, application deployments, technical documentation, application installations and configuration. Participates in 24/7 on-call rotation. Serves as escalation point for Service Desk and Level I application engineers. This is an in-office position in our downtown Kansas City office.

What You'll Do

• Provides tier 2 support and maintenance of applications to meet daily operational needs.

• Configures and upgrades applications as directed to meet daily operational needs.
• Implements and maintains customizations of applications to meet evolving business needs including reports, dashboards, and workflows.
• Implements and maintains third-party software connections and applications to support various business needs.
• Assists with debugging system integration and functionality issues including engagement with vendor support for defect resolution.
• Documents and implements policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data integrity, change protocols, customization, usage, etc.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of application functionality, customization, and integration.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree and 4 years of relevant experience
• In lieu of education, 6 years of relevant experience

What We Prefer

• 5 years Enterprise Level Application Operations experience
• Experience supporting cloud-based applications Microsoft Azure, Synapse, Data-Lakes, Power BI
• Experience with MS SQL Databases
• Experience supporting integrations between various platforms and/or various enterprise level applications
• Advanced technical troubleshooting experience
• Process automation
• Strong self-starter
• Knowledge of Agile and ITIL principles
• Operational ownership and accountability
• Strong history of cross-team communication and collaboration
