Job summary

DuPont seeks a customer-focused Application Engineer for MOLYKOTE Specialty Lubricants to serve as a technical advisor on wear, friction, and performance challenges. You will collaborate with engineers, manufacturers, distributors and end users to understand needs, investigate root causes, and deliver measurable value.

You will lead testing, translate results into actionable recommendations, and provide training to customers and partners while helping shape next-generation lubricant technologies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related technical field.
• 5+ years in application engineering, technical service, product development, tribology, or lubrication.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, lubrication principles, reliability or tribology concepts.
• Experience solving customer and technical challenges with a data-driven approach.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Experience working with customers, distributors, operations teams or external stakeholders is desirable.
• Experience in industrial equipment, lubricants, manufacturing or energy industries preferred.
• Certifications such as CLS, CLGS or Six Sigma Green Belt are a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 40%.

Responsibilities

• Partner with customers, distributors, and stakeholders to understand performance challenges and identify technical solutions.
• Lead investigations on friction, wear, lubrication, reliability, and equipment performance.
• Design and execute application testing, validate performance, and translate findings into recommendations.
• Serve as technical lead for strategic opportunities to improve equipment reliability and cost-in-use.
• Deliver technical training, presentations, and product knowledge to customers and teams.
• Support development and commercialization of new lubricant technologies by translating needs into innovations.
