Application Engineer Pumps

We are Hydro, Inc., a global, industrial pump engineering company with corporate headquarters in Chicago. As the largest independent pump rebuilder in the world, Hydro's has provided engineering expertise, pump repair and support services to the industry since 1969.

We have a great opportunity for a qualified Application Engineer Pumps to join our team at our location in Chicago, IL. in the great West Loop neighborhood. An excellent compensation and benefits package is available for qualified candidates.

JOB SUMMARY: Understands the packages required for pipeline pumps including rerates and hydraulic re-manufacturing of pumps.

Essential Job Accountabilities
  • Receive inquiry and understand customer requirements.
  • Define pump size/selection: used surplus.
  • Locate equipment and prepare required curves.
  • Locate motors, couplings, seals, and adjust pricing.
  • Assist with quote preparation and provide to executives and local service center for approval.
  • Review of customer order-based quote.
  • Prepare Bill of Material.
  • Prepare all documentation and drawings.
  • Visit execution service center to support job activity.
  • Collaborate with sales, design engineer and administration.
  • Work well with sales to help develop client relationships during the bid and post bid process.
Competencies
  • Ability to manage multiple pipeline activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated with a sense of urgency, personable and well organized.
  • Ability to read blueprints and handle technical inquiries for various pumps.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • BSME degree or in lieu of degree candidate will have 10 years of commensurate experience.
  • 10-15 years of experience in oil and gas industry.
  • Ability to travel as needed to customer sites and other Hydro facilities.
  • Proficient PC skills, including experience using MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with API pump specifications.
