Job summary

Columbus McKinnon is seeking an Application Engineer to handle complex project estimates from inquiry to final proposals. You will gather customer needs, provide technical guidance, and work with engineering to finalize scope. You’ll archive proposals and coordinate with production to test products as required.

The role emphasizes accurate costing, cross-functional teamwork, and strong communication with customers and distributors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 3+ years of estimating experience preferred or 5+ years of estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and translate them into estimates.
• Experience with ERP/CRM systems and familiarity with SolidWorks, Salesforce, AutoCAD, and Office.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualizes, creates, and prices complex projects and proposals to provide intelligent motion solutions.
• Communicates with customers to gather information on design needs and preferences.
• Offers application assistance and guidance via email and phone, including pre-sale recommendations.
• Provides engineering with a detailed scope of work after proposal approval.
• Archives finished proposals for future reference.
• Collaborates with production to observe and test products as needed.
